Three varieties of plug spawn for a backyard log garden.
Our Log Garden Trio includes 300 hardwood plug spawn dowels: 100 each of Shiitake, Chestnut, and Brown Oyster. It is plug spawn for a few logs, a good fit for a backyard or homestead and a thoughtful gift for gardeners.
How it works: drill holes in freshly cut hardwood logs, tap in the plugs, seal the holes with wax, and keep the logs shaded and moist. Logs usually take several months to a year before the first flush, then can produce for years. Logs and wax are not included.
