Dry Pack Substrate
Our substrate mix, dry and ready to hydrate. This is the same mix we use in our own sterile bags, just without the water and without the cook.
Masters Mix: hardwood sawdust and soybean hull, for oysters, lion's mane and more.
Shiitake Mix: hardwood sawdust with wheat bran.
Maitake Mix: hardwood blend for maitake.
The 5 lb size comes in a filter-patch 3T grow bag. The 10 lb size comes in a larger filter-patch grow bag.
NOT STERILE: you must pressure-cook before inoculating.
Each bag holds about 2 lb (5 lb size) or 4 lb (10 lb size) of dry mix and makes about 5 lb or 10 lb of hydrated substrate.
Water to add
- 5 lb size: 1.36 L (46 fl oz, about 5¾ cups, 3.0 lb / 1,360 g)

We recommend roughly 60% moisture. If unsure, fill slightly under.
